The union expressed particular sympathy to the bereaved families, acknowledging the pain of losing loved ones who were also breadwinners. “We also express our deepest sympathy to the entire families of all those involved in the helicopter crash, especially their wives and children, for the loss of their kinsmen and breadwinners,” the statement said.

GUTA encouraged the families to find comfort in the belief that “from God we came, and to Him shall we return”, while praying for patience and strength for the nation to bear the loss.

The association concluded by praying for the departed, saying, “May their souls rest in peace.”

The military helicopter crash has plunged the nation into mourning, with tributes pouring in from across the country and beyond for the eight victims who served Ghana in various capacities.
