GIS Warns Public Against Recruitment Scam on Social Media

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has cautioned the general public to be wary of a fraudulent recruitment advertisement circulating on social media.

In a statement issued by the Service’s Public Affairs Department, GIS stressed that it is not undertaking any recruitment exercise and has not advertised the sale of e-vouchers for enlistment.

According to the Service, the fake advert claims that recruitment e-vouchers are being sold for GHC 350.00 via a fraudulent short code, 422473#, with alleged sale periods running from August 27 to September 15 and August 27 to November 15, 2025.

“The public is cautioned not to fall prey to this misleading advert,” the statement read. “The advert is fraudulent, and anyone who engages with these scammers does so at their own risk.”

The GIS management further urged the public, particularly prospective applicants, to seek accurate information about recruitment processes only from official GIS offices across the country.

The release was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Immigration, M. Amoako-Atta, APR, Head of Public Affairs, who reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to protecting the public from fraudulent schemes.

For inquiries, members of the public are encouraged to contact the GIS Public Affairs Department on 0555027024 or via email at info@immigration.gov.gh.
