Ghana, Israel deepen educational ties with focus on EdTech Innovation

The Embassy of Israel in Ghana is deepening educational cooperation with Ghana by introducing cutting-edge Israeli education technology (EdTech) solutions to support the country’s digital transformation in the education sector.
The initiative, led by the Economic Department of the Israeli Embassy, aims to connect Ghanaian stakeholders with Israel’s advanced EdTech ecosystem.
It is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations through education-focused innovation.
Mr. Roey Gilad, Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, speaking at an EdTech event hosted by the Embassy in Accra, said the programme reflected Israel’s commitment to promoting mutual development through technology and innovation.
The Embassy believes that by connecting Ghana with Israeli innovations in education technology, both nations can jointly explore and implement scalable solutions to improve learning outcomes in the digital age.
The event also formed part of a broader strategy to integrate innovation into Ghana’s educational system.
The Ambassador said, “We wanted to introduce our technology in the field of education as part of our ongoing dialogue with Ghana,” describing education as a cornerstone of national development for both countries.”
He noted that the collaboration was not about Israel filling gaps in Ghana’s education system but fostering a two-way exchange of ideas, solutions, and shared learning.
Mr. Gilad urged Ghanaian stakeholders to remain open to adapting new technologies and encouraged visits to Israel to explore tech-driven innovations firsthand, and remarked, “seeing is believing.”
The event also featured a presentation by Mr. Niv Gross, a representative of Israel’s Centre for Educational Technology, who detailed the “Ghana-Israel EdTech Innovation Initiative.”
He explained that the core objective of the programme was to build meaningful partnerships between EdTech companies in both countries.
“The idea is to build bridges between Israeli and Ghanaian EdTech companies, bring solutions, and foster collaboration,” Mr. Gross said.
He added that the initiative would help address global challenges in education, particularly the complex and demanding nature of the teaching profession.
