Ghana Armed Forces announces live firing exercise at Bundase Training Camp

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that it will conduct a Land Combat Fire Power Demonstration Exercise at the Bundase Training Camp on Friday, October 31, 2025.

In a public service announcement signed by Captain (GN) V. A. Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the GAF stated that the exercise is aimed at testing the operational readiness of the Armed Forces in defending the country against external threats.

The military explained that the exercise will involve the use of live ammunition, explosives, and heavy military equipment, which will be accompanied by loud sounds and visible flashes.

Residents of Dawhenya and its surrounding communities have therefore been advised to stay away from the training area and its environs during the exercise period for their own safety.

The Armed Forces also urged residents not to panic upon hearing the sounds of explosions or seeing increased movement of troops and military vehicles in the area, as these are part of the planned operations.

“The Ghana Armed Forces assures the general public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure the security of both residents and participants throughout the exercise,” the statement read.

The GAF expressed appreciation for the cooperation of the public and emphasized its continued commitment to maintaining peace and security in the country.
