GES Cautions SHS Heads Against Turning Away Placed Students

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a strong caution to heads of Senior High Schools (SHSs) across the country to desist from turning away students who have been officially placed in their institutions through the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

In a statement signed by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, on behalf of the Acting Director-General of GES, management expressed concern over reports indicating that some school heads have been rejecting students who were duly placed in their schools.

The statement emphasized that “all placed students are to be received and properly processed for admission as per the GES guidelines.” It further directed school authorities to comply strictly with the admission procedures outlined under the CSSPS, stressing that no student should be denied entry once placement has been confirmed.

GES also advised that any challenges or concerns relating to placement, programme choices, accommodation, or other admission-related matters should be promptly referred to the Director-General through the respective Regional Directors of Education for swift resolution.

Management cautioned that failure to adhere to this directive could attract administrative sanctions against offending school heads or officials.

The Ghana Education Service reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring fairness, transparency, and smooth admissions under the CSSPS, urging all stakeholders to cooperate fully to guarantee a seamless placement and admission process for the 2025 academic year.
