The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) has dismissed unsubstantiated allegations against key officials and faculty members.
In a statement shared with the Ghana News Agency, the University said it had constituted an internal committee to investigate reported cases of academic dishonesty in accordance with its disciplinary code.
It described the allegations, largely circulated on social media, as part of a deliberate attempt to tarnish the institution’s reputation, allegedly driven by individuals with personal grievances, including aggrieved former employees “whose motives are clearly self-serving and parochial.”

“However, we take strong exception to the reckless manner in which unverified allegations are being published and sensationalized without affording the University the basic courtesy of a response or clarification,” the statement said.
The University urged media outlets to uphold ethical standards by verifying claims and seeking clarification from the institution before publication.
“The Management of GCTU wishes to serve a strong and unequivocal warning to all individuals and media entities engaged in, or enabling, the spread of baseless allegations.
“Any platform or individual found culpable in this regard will be held accountable and made to face the full rigours of the law,” it stated.
GCTU reaffirmed its commitment to addressing credible allegations through proper investigative procedures and assured that appropriate action would be taken where wrongdoing is established.
The University, formerly known as Ghana Technology University College, is a public institution focused on technology-based education.
It aims to produce high-quality graduates equipped to drive innovation in telecommunications, business, and ICT, with a strong emphasis on transnational education and global partnerships.
