Four Critically Injured in Head-On Collision on Senya Bonsuaku Highway

Four passengers are in critical condition following a head-on collision between two Sprinter buses on the Senya Bonsuaku highway in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region. The accident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

The crash involved a Sprinter bus with registration number GR 5137-18 traveling from Kasoa to Senya Bereku, and another bus with registration number AC 804-14 heading in the opposite direction from Senya Bereku to Kasoa.

Eyewitness Kennedy Ewuah, speaking to Nana Ansah, reported that the Kasoa-bound bus was transporting foodstuffs and had only one passenger on board, while the other vehicle was fully loaded with passengers. He explained that the driver of the foodstuff-laden bus lost control of the vehicle due to poor visibility caused by heavy cloud cover, leading to the devastating crash.

Both drivers sustained serious injuries, including broken legs, and were trapped in their vehicles. Local residents who witnessed the crash rushed to the scene and helped rescue the victims, who were quickly transported to nearby health facilities. The critically injured are currently receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
