Ekuona Royal Family and Fosuh Family Visit Chief of Staff Ahead of Daddy Lumba’s One-Week Commemoration

The Ekuona Royal Family, together with the Fosuh Family, on Monday paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, at the Flagstaff House in Accra.

The purpose of the visit was to officially inform the Chief of Staff of the upcoming one-week commemoration ceremony in honour of Ghanaian music legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

The solemn ceremony has been scheduled for Saturday, 30th August 2025, at the Legon Sports Stadium.

Speaking during the visit, family representatives expressed gratitude to the government and the people of Ghana for the outpouring of love and support following the passing of the iconic highlife musician. They emphasized that the one-week commemoration would be a national gathering to celebrate the life, music, and legacy of Daddy Lumba, who touched millions with his timeless songs.

The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, on his part, extended the government’s condolences to the family and assured them of the state’s support to ensure a befitting ceremony.

Daddy Lumba, who is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s greatest musicians, left an indelible mark on the country’s music industry with his unique style, evergreen hits, and unmatched stagecraft. His passing has been described as a monumental loss to Ghana and the African music fraternity.

The one-week ceremony at the Legon Sports Stadium is expected to draw thousands of fans, colleagues in the music industry, dignitaries, and well-wishers from across the country and beyond.
