DONATIONS UPDATE: Over GHS 8.6 Million and US$20,000 Raised for Children of August 6 Tragedy Victims

The Children’s Support Fund, established to provide long-term care and welfare for the children of victims of the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash, has received significant financial contributions from institutions and individuals across the country.

Between 23 September and 12 October 2025, a total of GHS 8,600,905.00 and US$20,000.00 has been donated to the Fund, reflecting the nation’s enduring spirit of compassion and solidarity in the face of tragedy.

Among the latest contributors are:

  • Ghana Civil Aviation Authority
  • Kow Eduakwa Sam
  • BOST Energies
  • Bui Power Authority
  • Energy Commission
  • Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
  • Israel Quarme Arye
  • Timothy Addai Adivilah Balagkutu
  • Agencies of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources
  • Augustus Obuadum Tanoh

The Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, expressed deep appreciation to all donors for their generosity and commitment to safeguarding the future of the affected children.

“The outpouring of support from individuals, institutions, and corporate entities continues to reaffirm our collective humanity and compassion as a nation,” Dr. Sawyerr noted. She further encouraged continued contributions to sustain the Fund’s objectives.

Donations to the Children’s Support Fund may be made through Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited (Stanbic Heights Branch, Accra) via the following accounts:

  • Ghana Cedi (GHS) Account: 9040013628372
  • US Dollar (USD) Account: 9040013628534

Cheques and bank drafts should be made payable to: CHILDREN SUPPORT FUND 6825.

Mobile Money payments can also be made through the designated payment platforms attached to the Fund’s communication channels.

The Children’s Support Fund was established to ensure the educational, emotional, and general welfare of children left behind by the victims of the tragic helicopter crash on 6 August 2025, a national disaster that claimed several lives.
