The Central East Regional Police Command has successfully secured the conviction of a 25-year-old man, Kolie Samuel, in connection with a robbery incident that occurred on July 10, 2025, near Golden Pride Preparatory School at Millennium City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
According to a statement issued by DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, Head of Public Affairs for the Central East Region, the incident took place around 5:30 a.m. when the convict attacked a female victim and robbed her of her handbag. The bag contained an iPhone 16 Pro Max and a purse with an unspecified amount of cash.
Swift intelligence-led investigations, with assistance from the victim, led to the arrest of Kolie Samuel at his hideout in Ngleshie Amanfro, a suburb of Accra, on the same day of the crime. During a search, police retrieved the victim’s stolen iPhone and several other items believed to be proceeds of previous robberies.

The items recovered included:
- One Dell laptop
- Two Itel mobile phones
- One Nokia phone
- One Alcatel phone
- One Vodafone WiFi device
- Two pairs of AirPods
- One gold necklace
- Three wristwatches
- One ladies’ purse
- One wallet containing a health insurance card bearing the name Kwapong Sahnan
- Ten memory cards
Following investigations, Kolie Samuel was arraigned before the Ofaakor Circuit Court on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He pleaded guilty to charges of robbery and causing harm, and was sentenced to 14 and 5 years imprisonment respectively. The court ordered that the sentences run concurrently.
