Clean Power Fuels Upcycling Movement in Kantamanto

At Kantamanto Market, where second-hand clothes arrive by the millions each week, a new partnership is helping traders and tailors work in a cleaner, more sustainable way. The Revival Earth, a local non-profit that trains young people to turn textile waste into new products, has teamed up with Kofa, Africa’s battery-swapping network, to bring reliable power to the market. A Kofa battery station has been set up inside Kantamanto to run sewing machines, lighting, and workshops. Instead of depending on noisy, polluting generators, traders now have access to clean energy that keeps their work going. The station will be managed by The Revival Earth, making sure the skills and benefits stay within the community. During the launch, The Revival Earth opened its new Showroom & Atelier,...

CSA Warns High School Graduates Against Indecent Social Media Conduct

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has cautioned recent high school graduates to refrain from posting indecent and irresponsible content on social media, warning that such behaviour carries serious personal and legal consequences. According to the Authority, disturbing posts with inappropriate language and troubling intentions—including phrases such as “we go scatter them” and threats of “snatching people’s husbands”—have been widely shared online, drawing public concern. The CSA reminded young people that social media, while a powerful tool for expression, networking, and career growth, comes with lasting implications. Content shared online forms part of an individual’s digital footprint, which can be scrutinised by universities, scholarship boards, and employers. The Authority stre...
