A serious road accident occurred on the Mankessim–Apam highway at Ekumfi Essakyir, involving a DAF Articulator Truck (registration number AS 3215-25) and a Hyundai Starex minivan (registration number AKN 620XA).
The collision left five individuals trapped inside the Hyundai Starex, all of whom were successfully rescued and rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency medical care. Thankfully, no fatalities were recorded.
The Hyundai Starex sustained severe damage, while the DAF truck suffered partial damage to its front side. Fire and rescue personnel responded swiftly, clearing the wreckage and debris that had obstructed the road. They also recovered personal belongings from the damaged vehicles and handed them over to officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service.
The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation. Authorities have commended the prompt response of the emergency services, whose actions helped prevent further injuries and ensured the safety of other road users.
