A total of 1,584 candidates, including 806 females are expected to write this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) which will commence on Wednesday June 11, 2025, at five centres in Effutu Municipality.
They are from 57 schools, comprising 24 public and 33 private schools in the municipality.
Mr John Ntisful, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Effutu Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES), told the GNA in an interview that 921 candidates are expected to write French, while 1,583 will participate in the ICT.

According to him 32 candidates will write the Arabic paper and 57 will write Ghanaian languages while three hearing impaired, made up one boy and two girls are writing the Effutu paper.
Mr Ntisful wished the pupils the best, and urged them to remain calm and focused, and not to fear or panic throughout the examination period.
They should also play by the rules governing the conduct of the examination and abide by them to avoid trouble.
He advised them to attempt all questions and be mindful of time to finish well.
“Success in life is only achieved through honesty and hard work,” he added.
