As part of ongoing outreach efforts and a strong commitment to inclusive national development, Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has made a donation to the Cape Coast School for the Deaf to support the welfare and learning needs of students at the institution.
The donation was carried out on behalf of the Vice President by a delegation led by Hon. Kakra Yalley, reaffirming government’s dedication to ensuring that children with disabilities are not left behind in Ghana’s educational advancement.
Speaking through the delegation, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that every child, regardless of physical ability, deserves access to quality education in an environment that nurtures talent, dignity, and self-confidence. She noted that inclusive education should not be viewed as an act of charity but as a fundamental responsibility and a core pillar of the government’s broader vision for sustainable national development.

“Inclusive education is central to our development agenda. When we invest in children with special needs, we invest in the future of the nation,” the Vice President stated.
She further commended the teachers, caregivers, and management of the Cape Coast School for the Deaf for their dedication, patience, and resilience in shaping the futures of the students, often under challenging conditions. According to her, their commitment remains crucial in empowering the children to reach their full potential.
The management of the school expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as timely and impactful, and reaffirmed their commitment to providing quality education and care for deaf students.
The gesture underscores government’s resolve to promote equity, inclusion, and social protection, ensuring that no child is excluded from national progress due to disability.
