Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang Supports Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital with Donation

Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has made a separate donation to the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital as part of her continued commitment to supporting institutions that cater for vulnerable members of society.

The donation, which was presented on her behalf by Hon. Kakra Yalley, is aimed at enhancing the care and welfare of patients as well as supporting frontline caregivers at the facility. It forms part of a broader initiative focused on strengthening social support systems and improving conditions within critical public health institutions.

Speaking on the gesture, the Vice President emphasized that supporting facilities such as Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital is a vital step toward reducing stigma associated with mental health and improving access to quality mental health services across the country.

She commended the dedication and sacrifice of health professionals and caregivers at the hospital, describing their work as selfless and essential to national development. According to her, their commitment to caring for some of the most vulnerable members of society deserves recognition and sustained support.

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang reaffirmed her resolve to continue advocating for stronger mental health support systems, noting that mental health care must remain a key component of Ghana’s healthcare agenda.
