13th African Games: Ghana’s Winifred Ntumi Wins Double

Ghana’s Winnifred Ntumi has won Team Ghana’s first medals in the ongoing 13th African Games competition in Accra. The female weightlifting gem won two silver medals and one gold medal in the women’s 46kg in weightlifting, clean and jerk as well as the total score. Winnifred is one of Ghana medal hopes after claiming the nation’s first ware at the last Games in Morocco in 2019.

Winifred Ntumi Targets Gold In Weightlifting At ‘Accra 2023’

Winifred Ntumi, a National Weightlifting Star, was among athletes preparing in Cape Coast ahead of the 2023 African Games. She has moved to Legon, University of Ghana Campus, the Games Village like all athletes representing Ghana. She won Team Ghana's first three medals in the 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco, in the 45kg category. However, she will no longer compete in the 45kg category but rather in the 49kg category. She is poised to repeat this feat in Accra.
