The United States Government has lifted visa restrictions imposed on Ghana, paving the way for Ghanaians to once again be eligible for five-year multiple entry visas and other consular privileges. Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced the development in New York on Friday on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly. It follows a bilateral meeting with Ms Allison Hooker, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs. “I am really pleased that months of high-level diplomatic negotiations have led to this successful outcome,” Mr Ablakwa said. African quartet to receive $9.55 million each for 2025 FIFA Club World Cup participation

FIFA has confirmed a participation fee of $ 9.55 million for each of the four African teams competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (CWC). The inaugural edition of the revamped FIFA CWC will take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025. The four African clubs participating in the tournament are Al Ahly of Egypt, Esperance of Tunisia, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, and Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco.
