Ministry of Youth and Sports commiserate with families of Offinso accident

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has commiserated with the families of the six young footballers who died in the Offinso river accident on accident. Management and playing bodies were left bereaved after their car conveying the sports boys from Afrancho Afranch to Offinso after undergoing colts division registration plunged into the river. According to the Offinso Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department commander, DSP Edmound Nyamekye, the driver lost control of the wheel and put the lives of the over 40 passengers in danger. In a press statement released by the ministry of youth and sports registering its condolence, the Ministry assured appropriate measures will be taken to avert future occurrences. Black Stars Coach CK Akonnor mourns with families of Offinso accident

Ghana Black Stars coach C K Akonnor has extend condolences to the families who lost their family members in the Offinso accident. "Sad hearing the passing of eight juvenile football players yesterday at Offinso. My thoughts are with the family of the departed and the victims. May their souls Rest In Peace" he said. Six players lost their lives on Saturday September 19th,2020 after a bus carrying young footballers involved in an accident at Offinso in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The players lost their lives when they were returning home from Afrancho where they had travelled for their registration for the upcoming colts league. The Black Stars coach has added his voice to others who have all sent condolences to the affected families.

The leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and the National Juvenile Committee (NJC) have learnt of the passing of six juvenile football players on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Offinso, near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. The GFA wishes to express our deepest condolences to the family of the six young footballers who passed away after the car they were traveling on, submerged. We are informed that the players and their handlers were headed to Offinso having undergone their District Colts football registration exercise at Afrancho. Offinso Accident: Kotoko mourn with bereaved families

Kumasi Asante Kotoko management led by CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah and Administrative manager Emmanuel Dasoberi has expressed condolences to the families of the footballers who lost their lives in the accident that occurred on Saturday, September 19 at Offinso. “Our heartfelt condolence goes to the families and loved ones of the victims of the Colts Club involved in the tragic road accident at Offinso,” the club said in a statement. “We also pray for the victims and wish the injured speedy recovery.
