Suspected killers of Mfantseman MP jailed 20 years for robbery

Four persons suspected to be involved in the murder of the former Member of Parliament for the Mfantseman constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford have been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment each. The four were convicted and jailed for a separate robbery incident they were involved in weeks after the murder of the former legislator. According to the police, the convicts will be made to face the courts again for the charge of murder of the deceased MP. The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, COP Ken Yeboah said while the police were investigating the October 2020 killing of the former MP, they received information about a robbery incident on the Jakobo-Obuasi highway on 11th May 2021. Mfantseman MP’s death: Forensic analysis on exhibits not ready – Police

Police say forensic analysis of exhibits in connection with the robbery of the slain Mfantseman Member of Parliament, Ekow Quansah Hayford which was forwarded to the laboratory was not yet ready. The Prosecution led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Fuseine Yakubu said the results of the forensic analysis would determine the Prosecution’s next line of action. ASP Yakubu therefore prayed the court for an adjournment pending the outcome of the results of the forensic analysis. Defence counsel repeated their application for bail for the accused persons but the court presided over by Mrs Evelyn Asamoah turned it down. Mfantseman MP, Ekow Hayford To Be Buried November 28

The late Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mfantseman Constituency Ekow Kwansah Hayford will be buried at Mankessim in the Central Region on Saturday November 28, 2020. According to the programme released by the family, a night of hymns and tributes will be held in honour of the late MP at the Ebenezer Methodist Church, Mankessim on Friday November 27, 2020. The body Ekow Hayford will be laid in state for the burial service at the School Kessim (Astro Turf) park before conveyed to the Mankessim cemetary for interment. Five arrested in connection with murder of Mfantseman MP Ekow Quansah Hayford

Five persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman , Ekow Quansah Hayford. This was revealed by the Ghana Police Service on their social media handle. According to the police, the suspects are being taken through lawful Police procedures. The MP, Ekow Quansah Hayford, was killed by unknown gunmen at Abeadzi Duadzi in Mankesim in the Central Region on his return from a campaign tour at around 11:00 pm .
