Prof. JK Mintah Appointed Technical Director of the GFA

Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah has been appointed as the new Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). The decision was confirmed during a media briefing on Wednesday in Kumasi, organized by the Football Association. Professor Mintah takes over from Bernhard Lippert, who stepped down from the role after serving as the Technical Director for the past four years. GFA executive council gift monthly allowance to Offinso accident victims

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken a decision to donate their monthly allowance for the month of September 2020 to the Offinso accident victims. All the members of the Council collectively decided on Monday, September 21, 2020 to support the victims. This follows an accident on Saturday, involving about 34 young footballers of Africa Vision Soccer Academy claiming the lives of seven footballers as the minibus they were travelling on plunged into the Ofinso river. Sadly, six of the young footballers died on the spot while one who was in a critical condition died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi on Sunday. GFA executive council meet to discus new season and congress

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will meet on Thursday, July 9, 2020, to fix a date for Congress and also discuss matters related to the new season. This follows the decision of the Council to cancel the 2019/20 football season and prepare for a new one. Matters to be discussed include date and agenda for Congress, date for player registration and modalities leading to the start of the 2020/21 season. The football calendar has not been fully completed since the 2016/17 season when Aduana Stars FC won their second Ghana Premier League title and Asante Kotoko pipped their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak to lift their 9th FA Cup title.
