Late Ga Manye’s funeral will proceed as planned – Planning committee

The organizers of the funeral service for the late Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru III, say they will proceed with the ceremony on Saturday, despite being slapped with an injunction. The funeral earlier hit a snag following an injunction secured against it by some interested parties. Russian airstrike kills 51 at a funeral in Ukraine

A Russian attack on the village of Hroza, south-east of Kharkiv, has killed at least 51 people, including an eight-year-old boy, Ukraine says. Villagers were attending a wake for a local resident when a missile struck at 15:15 local time (13:15 BST). Ukraine's defence ministry said there were no military targets in the area - only civilians. Kharkiv regional head Oleh Synyehubov described the attack as one of the region's "bloodiest crimes". He confirmed that everyone who died were residents of the village, and that today's attack killed 20% of its population. The New Juaben Traditional Authority together with the Eastern Regional and Municipal Education Directorate in consultation with the New Juaben South Security Council in Koforidua, has pushed for the closure of schools on Monday 16th May, 2022 as part of preparations for the funeral of the late Omanhene and Omanhemaa of New Juaben Traditional Area, Prof. Dasebere Emeritus Oti Boateng and Nana Yaa Daani.
