Ghana Deports Three Israelis in Diplomatic Response to Treatment of Ghanaian Nationals
The Government of Ghana has deported three Israeli nationals in response to what it describes as the ill-treatment and unjustified deportation of three Ghanaians by Israeli authorities.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the decision was taken after the three Israeli nationals arrived in Ghana earlier today. The move, government officials say, was a reciprocal measure aimed at addressing concerns over the treatment of Ghanaian citizens abroad and safeguarding their dignity.
In connection with the incident, the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Accra was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This followed the absence of the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, who is currently outside the country.
