Accra Double Decker Bus Tour Officially Open

Ghanaian Dancehall artist, Stonebwoy waves the Ghana flag during the Regional and Domestic Tourism outdooring of the bus. It’s official, the Double Decker City Tour Coach will be operating for the general public starting this week. The tours are a collaboration of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA) to create tours of the city of Accra using the double decker bus to experience Accra in a new way. The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) with support from the City of Freiburg in Germany has donated medical consumables and equipment to the Kaneshie Polyclinic to support healthcare delivery amidst the fight against the deadly coronavirus. The Black Meteors have departed Accra for Tokyo, Japan for International friendly games against the Olympic team of Japan and South Korea. Coach Samuel Kwasi Fabin’s side have been training at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram for the past two weeks ahead of the matches. Ghana failed to qualify for the quadrennial games but will use the test matches to prepare for the next African Games scheduled for Accra in 2023. Noise levels at Exhale Lounge in Accra unacceptable- EPA Report

The Environmental Protection Agency has confirmed that the noise levels at the Exhale Lounge located at East Legon in Accra has exceeded the acceptable levels in the capital and other cities. “The equivalent noise levels recorded at all the monitoring sites/locations at the time of assessment were unsatisfactory. The noise levels recorded were higher than the recommended limit of 48dB (A). “The higher noise emanating from Exhale Lounge could adversely affect public health and the environment.” These were parts of the findings of the EPA, after conducting a monitoring assessment following numerous complaints from residents living at Garden Street near A&C shopping Mall at East Legon in Accra. Accra: Ban on drumming and noise making begins May 10

The annual ban on drumming and noise-making in Accra will this year begin on May 10, according to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA). A Press Statement issued by the AMA has indicated that the police in collaboration with an identifiable task force will be deployed to ensure that the ban is observed and help prevent clashes between the traditional authorities and other people. “Apart from an identifiable task force that consists of AMA personnel, the Ghana Police Service and Representatives from the Traditional Councils with tags, no other person or group of persons should be seen or found enforcing the abatement of noise in the metropolis,” the statement said. Ronor Motors CEO constructs 2km road in Accra

A 38-year-old philanthropist and Chief Executive Officer of Ronor Motors, Mr Atta Frimpong Addo, has constructed and asphalted a two-kilometer road at Lashibi in the Greater Accra Region from his personal coffers. The road, constructed in the neighbourhood of Emefs Estate, connects North Celebrity Hill to other adjourning areas in Lashibi. It was started in September 2020 and completed in March this year. Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak played out an exciting 0-0 draw in the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday. The goalkeepers for the two teams, Richard Atta and Razak Abalora, stole the headlines, each saving a penalty in the game played behind closed doors  because of the COVID-19 restrictions.
