The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) Resolution Centre has intensified efforts to resolve placement-related concerns of candidates and parents across the country.
The centres, which began operations on Friday, September 18, 2025, are providing support to ensure smooth placement into Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Technical Institutes. According to the Secretariat, more than 564,000 out of 590,390 qualified candidates have so far been successfully placed.
Since opening, the centres have received 1,358 cases, with the majority involving requests for change of school. Out of these, 1,100 cases were related to transfers, with about 76% of requests seeking movement from Category C and B schools to Category A schools, while 14% involved transfers within Category B, and 10% within Category C.

Officials explained that while interest in Category A schools remains strong, placement is largely determined by raw scores, available vacancies, and levels of competition. Consequently, even high-performing candidates may not always gain admission into their first-choice schools. The Ministry of Education assured that all genuine concerns are being carefully reviewed.
Other issues handled at the centres include:
- Change of Residence: Normally not permitted, except in cases involving health challenges or family relocation.
- No Placement Cases: Qualified students who were not automatically placed are encouraged to use the self-placement option. So far, 70% of such students have successfully secured schools through this process.
- Change of Programme: These requests are also under consideration by the Secretariat.
Meanwhile, data for re-entry students is currently being processed for placement.
The CSSPS Secretariat has assured parents, guardians, and candidates that all pending concerns are being addressed diligently to ensure fairness and a smooth school placement process nationwide.
