The Government of Ghana has deported three Israeli nationals in response to what it describes as the ill-treatment and unjustified deportation of three Ghanaians by Israeli authorities.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the decision was taken after the three Israeli nationals arrived in Ghana earlier today. The move, government officials say, was a reciprocal measure aimed at addressing concerns over the treatment of Ghanaian citizens abroad and safeguarding their dignity.
In connection with the incident, the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Accra was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This followed the absence of the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, who is currently outside the country.

Despite the diplomatic tension, both the Government of Ghana and the Government of Israel have expressed their commitment to resolving the matter amicably through dialogue and mutual understanding.
The Government of Ghana reaffirmed its resolve to protect the dignity and rights of its nationals wherever they may be, as well as to ensure respect for the rights of all foreign nationals within its borders. It emphasized that Ghana places high value on its relations with friendly countries and expects Ghanaian citizens to be treated with dignity and respect, just as Ghana extends the same courtesy to foreign nationals.
Officials stressed that Ghana remains committed to maintaining cordial international relations while standing firm on issues concerning the fair and respectful treatment of its citizens.
