The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ernest Yaw Anim, has come out victoriuos in the Kumawu by- election held on Tuesday May 23, 2023.
The NPP candidate won with a huge gap against his main competitors Kwasi Amankwaa of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Kwaku Duah Snr who contested as an independent candidate.
Yaw Anim accumulated 15, 264 votes against Kwasi Amankwaa and Kwaku Duah Snr who amassed 3,723 and 2,497 respectively.
He has replaces the late Philip Basoah who held the seat until his death on March 28, 2023.
The newly elected statesman is a chartered accountant and was a senior Accountant at Vanguard Properties Development, Ghana.
He held several positions at Vanguard including Financial Controller where he managed an annual budget of over $4m on four different projects.
Before joining Vanguard, he was an Account Officer at Millennium Development Authority Ghana and has also worked as Assistant Manager, Tax Services for Nobisfields.
Ernest Yaw Anim is a graduate assistant from the Ohio University Economics Department and holds Masters in Financial Economics from Ohio University, Professional Certificate in Accounting from ACCA and B.Com from the University Of Cape Coast.
He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
