Zambia’s Barbra Banda wins BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year award
Zambian International, Barbra Banda has been named BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2024.
Banda, who presently plays for National Soccer League club Orlando Pride, has represented Zambia in two Olympic Games and the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.She scored four goals in the Paris Olympics, including a hat-trick against Australia, to become Africa's all-time leading scorer in Olympic football history with 10 goals.
On winning the award, Barbra said: “I am shocked and surprised to have this award by my side. My teammates have been pushing for me to be where I am right now and to have this trophy.
