Zambia’s Barbra Banda wins BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year award

 Zambian International, Barbra Banda has been named BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year 2024. Banda, who presently plays for National Soccer League club Orlando Pride, has represented Zambia in two Olympic Games and the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.She scored four goals in the Paris Olympics, including a hat-trick against Australia, to become Africa's all-time leading scorer in Olympic football history with 10 goals. The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced the Best XI of the CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024, highlighting the top-performing players of the tournament. The CAF Technical Study Group (TSG), which includes football analysts, coaches, and technical advisors, meticulously selected the Best XI based on players' performances throughout the competition. The Best XI features four players from debutants FC Masar, four from Champions TP Mazembe, two from runners-up AS FAR, and one from Edo Queens. Head Coach of the Black Galaxies, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has named a 32-man squad for the upcoming pre-CHAN qualifiers training camp ahead of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria The camp, which will run from Monday, November 25, 2024, will be held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, as the team gears up for a crucial two-legged qualifier against Nigeria in December.
