Ghana Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac, has said he expects Kudus Mohammed to join up with his Ghanaian in teammates Cameroon next week.
The midfielder is yet to link up with his colleagues in Yaounde after he was named in Ghana’s final 28-man squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Kudus has been out of action since November 2021 after picking up an injury in Ghana’s final Group G game against South Africa in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana arrived in Cameroon on Saturday night, still without the former Right to Dream Academy starlet, who is currently with club side Ajax Amsterdam in a mid-season training tour of Portugal.
“Kudus got injured in our last game against South Africa, he started training recently with his club (Ajax) so we are expecting him to join us in the coming days, a week’s time when he is fully fit and hopefully we can count on him as the tournament progresses,” Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac said in the pre-game press conference.
Ghana face Morocco on Monday in their opening game of the competition at 16:00GMT.
The Black Stars are looking to end a 40-year wait for the AFCON trophy, last winning the competition in 1982.
