Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey ruled out of Ashanti Derby

Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey will miss his side’s clash with Ashantigold FC in the Ghana Premier league on Sunday.

The former Inter Allies man has been suspended for the tie at the Kumasi Sports Stadium due to accumulated cards.

Lamptey was shown the yellow cards in the game against Dreams FC, WAFA and Aduana Stars.

The midfielder has been in fine form for the Reds since joining them at the beginning of the season.

He has form a strong midfield partnership with Richard Boadu, Mudasiru Salifu and Fabio Gama making him a key member in coach Ogum’s setup.

He has scored three goals for the Porcupine Warriors since the start of the season.

In his absence, Coach Ogum could rely on Emmanuel Keyekeh as his replacement when they take on the Miners.

Meanwhile, Isaac Oppong, Patrick Asmah and Fabio Gama have all returned to training after recovering from injuries and could be in contention for the game.
