UNWTO tourism day celebration to be marked in Hohoe

This year's United Nations World Tourism Organisation tourism day celebration will be marked in Hohoe in the Volta Region. The Ghana Tourism Authority, under the auspicious of the Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture, is set to organize the commemoration of the day held on September 27 yearly to showcase the tourism sector’s unique ability to drive economic development, preserve and promote culture and heritage as well as to provide opportunities for all. Mrs Ursula Owusu- Ekuful, Minister of Communication and Digitilisation says the Ministry is committed to closing the gender gap in the Information  Communication (ICT) Technology ecosystem. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has slammed European nations that do not recognize the Indian version of the AstraZeneca vaccine His comments come on the heels of the “simplified travel measures” announced recently by the UK Government, and, indeed, by some countries in Europe, which comes into effect from 4th October. Former LightHouse Chapel Pastor in Court over car stealing

A Former Pastor of Lighthouse Chapel International (LCI) has been put before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing the church’s Elantra Hyundai Saloon car worth GHS80,000. Emmanuel Oko Mensah is said to have refused to return the vehicle with registration number GN 8591-12 to the church after he resigned from the church in October 2019. Charged with stealing, Pastor Mensah has pleaded not guilty and he is on a GHS 150,000 bail with two sureties. Accused is expected to reappear on October 12. Ghana’s population is currently 30.8 million, according to the provisional results of the 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC) released by the Government Statistician Professor Samuel Kobina Annim on Wednesday September 22. This is up from the 30.42 million figure as of 2019. The total population for Ghana as of the last census in 2010 was enumerated at 24,658,823.
