Hearts of Oak plot C I Kamsar fall in Accra

Hearts of Oak have a mammoth chance to make it to the next stage of the CAF Champions League competition when they clash with Guinean champions Club Industriel de Kamsar at the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow. Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool will continue to be without Bobby Firmino for the impending league clash with Patrick Vieira’s new-look Crystal Palace outfit. The Brazilian international has been out of action since sustaining a hamstring injury in the Reds’ home draw with Chelsea. The former Dortmund boss added that a return to first-team training was still a week off for the 29-year-old, leaving the Merseysiders with Diogo Jota, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and a host of backup options for their return to English top-flight action. It’s a shame we’ll be without the talented linkup man, though given the form the likes of Diogo Jota and Mo Salah are enjoying currently, we should still have more than enough in the tank to see us through until his return. England braced to lose Callum Hudson-Odoi to Ghana as Chelsea star grows disillusioned with the FA

Gareth Southgate is growing resigned to Callum Hudson-Odoi switching international allegiance to Ghana after the Chelsea forward rejected an Under 21 call-up for the European Championship qualifiers against Romania and Kosovo earlier this month. Hudson-Odoi has dual nationality and under FIFA rules is eligible to switch because he has not represented England at the finals of a major tournament, and all of his three competitive senior appearances came before the age of 21. Hudson-Odoi would have to wait until November 2022 to represent Ghana — three years after his last appearance for England — but given that would enable him to play in the World Cup in Qatar, it remains an attractive option.
