1D1F: President Akufo-Addo Commissions Gh¢6.7 Million Sefwi Akontombra Rice Factory

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Sunday, 5th September 2021, commissioned the GH¢6.7 million Sefwi Akontombra rice processing factory, as part of his 2-day tour of the Western-North Region. The rice factory is a state-of-the-art rice facility, with the capacity to produce between 1.5 and 2.8 tonnes of processed rice per hour. The processing plants installed at the factory include modern parboiling, milling and packaging plants. It has a standby generator plant and a mechanised borehole to supply the facility with water. It also has a fully furnished office accommodation for staff, a conference room, laboratory and a canteen/kitchen. President Akufo-Addo cuts sod for 67km Agona-Tarkwa road; dixcove landing beach to be completed in Sept. 2022

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Saturday, 4th September 2021, as part of his 2-day tour of the Western Region, cut the sod for the commencement of work on the reconstruction of the 67-kilometre Agona Nkwanta – Tarkwa Road. Being funded with a 95-million-euro facility from Deutsche Bank AG, Frankfurt, Germany, the project is expected to be completed by 31st August 2024, i.e. 36 months. The Road project, once completed will link Tarkwa, one of the major economic centres of Ghana, to the port city of Takoradi and to the national route, N1, which links Ghana to Cote D’Ivoire. At least two people have been arrested after metro guards confiscated 15 cartons of unwholesome chicken parts at the Mbrom lorry station in Kumasi. The arrest was made Friday afternoon after a woman known only as Abiba was transporting the rotten chicken to Adankwame and Asuofia for sale, security officials told Asaase News.
