Diaso: Five suspected armed robbers gunned down by residents

A group of armed robbers who attempted to rob some residents in Diaso in the Upper Dankyira West District of the Central Region were gunned down in a shootout. The shootout between the residents and robbers led to the killing of five armed robbers, while two managed to escape. A police report said the two locally manufactured guns and fourteen cartridges were found at the scene when the police visited the area. Residents identified one of the robbers as Attah, a hardened criminal in the community who was on the police wanted list. The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to the Sefwi-Bibiani Government Hospital for preservation and identification. Source: citinewsroom.com

Police arrest suspected narcotics dealer

A team of Special Weapon And Tactics (SWAT) officers from the National Headquarters Operations, upon a tip-off, has arrested one Samuel Asante at the Christiansburg Castle junction area for trading in substances suspected to be narcotics. The suspect, 38, was arrested around 10:45am Friday and upon a thorough search, Police retrieved some suspicious items from his room. The items include seven sacks full of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and 10 bottles of alcoholic drinks brewed with substance suspected to be Indian hemp. The Police Service will continue to adopt strategies to rid communities of criminals, in a bid to prevent crimes and to ensure law and order in the country. KLM flight aborted at KIA over bird strike

A KLM flight to Amsterdam was aborted on Friday evening at the Kotoka International Airport due to a bird strike incident “close to the windshield of the aircraft”, an official statement said. The Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) in a statement dated 4 September 2021, said the KLM Royal Dutch Airline will reschedule its aborted flight to Amsterdam as soon as possible. Police Impound 22 vehicles at Kasoa Tollbooth

The Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department(MTTD), led by the Director-General, DCOP/Mr. Nyarko Aboagye have impounded 22 vehicles for violating various road traffic offences along the Weija-Kasoa stretch of the N1 highway during a special exercise code named "war" Against Road Traffic Indiscipline on Friday, 3rd August 2021, between the hours of 3pm and 6:30pm. The Police MTTD, collaborated with National Road Safety Authority, together with Citi FM/TV crew in carrying out this operation. A nine-year-old boy Philip Ametepey has escaped from his alleged kidnappers who placed him in a sack at Kasoa Transformer in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region. According to the boy, the kidnappers forced him into a sack, but he managed to escape. Rapper Dizzee Rascal has denied headbutting his ex-girlfriend at a home in south London this summer. The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Friday, 3rd September 2021, commissioned the Narubiz Rubber Factory, a company operating under Government’s 1-District-1-Factory initiative, at Wassa Dompim, in the Wassa East District of the Western Region. The factory, which is a 100% Ghanaian owned company, has the capacity to process twenty (20) tons of rubber per day for export to countries such as Turkey, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
