Kotoko coach Barreto demands a return ticket to Ghana to start pre-season

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Mariano Barreto has written to the management of Asante Kotoko demanding a return ticket to Ghana according to reports. The former Black stars coach apparently left the shores of Ghana to his home country after the 2020-21 season ended a month ago. In a letter sighted by Kessben Sports, the Portuguese taskmaster noted that the club should as matter of urgency get his return ticket to the West African nation ready as he plans to return and start the pre-season soon. The tone of his letter suggests he’s ready to start pre-season with the club despite the impasse between himself and the management of the club. The Black Stars arrived in Cape Coast Tuesday afternoon for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifier against Ethiopia. The team held light training in Accra on Monday but will move their preparation into full gear on Tuesday afternoon as the technical team put the players in shape for the test. Akufo-Addo donates GH¢14m for surgery on conjoined twins

President Nana Addo has issued a cheque to pay for the full cost of the surgery on the conjoined twins at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital. Police arrest two suspected robbers with gold detecting machine

A Police patrol team in conjunction with a Community Watchdog has arrested two member of an armed robbery gang who robbed a gold dealer of his gold detecting machine at Talekura near Tinga, a gold mining enclave in the Bole District of the Savannah Region. The suspects, Dauda Appiah, 43 and Yussif Abdullah, 25, were later spotted with the machine at Maluwe also in the Bole district and were subsequently arrested a day after the robbery on August 30, 2021. Germany gives Ghana 1.5 million doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines

The German Government is giving Ghana some 1.5 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines to aid in the national vaccination campaign against the pandemic. The donation is part of the pledge made by Germany to make up to 70 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines available to African countries this year to help the continent’s bid to vaccinate its 1.3 billion population.
