Ghana Premier league to go autonomous from 2022/23

The proposed Independent elite League competition that has been at the front burner under the current administration will take off in the 2022/23 season. The GFA Executive Council took the decision at a meeting in Accra. According to the Executive Council, the current 18 club format will be maintained for the initial years before any addition or otherwise. The decision follows an elaborate discussions and consultations by the Autonomous Premier League Advisory Committee chaired by Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Togbui Afede XIV. Bolgatanga: Armed Robber Shot Dead

The Police in Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional capital have shot and killed 30 year- old Stephen Atia, a suspected armed robber. Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) David Fianko-Okyere, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency, said the victim was pronounced dead at the Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga on Sunday. He explained that the deceased and one Asampana Ayine, also known as Winder, a known and wanted armed robber had earlier robbed a victim of his motorbike in the Bolgatanga Township. Robbery at a gas filling station leaves one person dead

A 54-year old security guard, Edem Kpodogah, with Makolives Gas Filling Station at Tegbi-Xekpa near Busco Junction, has been killed in an attack at the filling station. The filling station, owned by the Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Makafui Kofi Woanya, was attacked in the early hours of Monday. The attack also saw the robbers make away with the safe containing the Company’s money. No arrest has yet been made in connection with the attack on the filling station. The Nigerian government has condemned an assault on one of its diplomats in Indonesia. Footage circulating on social media showed Abdulrahman Ibrahim, a consular officer based in Jakarta, being held down in a vehicle by several men.
