The Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo who’s also Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has announced a Gh¢10,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest of the boyfriend of the slain police officer late Constable Sandra Asiedu.
The gruesome murder of the female Police officer happened in Damongo on August 1, 2021.
This was disclosed by Mr. Saeed Jibril Muhazu, the Savannah Regional Minister on behalf of the MP Mr. Abu Jinapor, at the Savannah Regional Police Command when the minister paid a visit to Savannah Region Police Command to commiserate with them following the murder.
The Minister urged the public to fully assist the Police Service in its quest to arrest and prosecute the boyfriend of the late police officer who the police believe to be hiding in or around Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.
The MP pledged that anybody who will be able to give information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect will be given ¢10,000. Hon. Jinapor in addition also presented a cash amount of Gh¢ 5,000 to the Regional Police Command in Damongo to aid their movement and another Gh¢ 5,000 to the family of the late officer to assist them in the preparation of the burial.
DCOP Enock Adu-Twum Bediako, the Savannah Regional Police Commander on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) thanked the MP Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor and the Savannah Regional minister for their support.
Const. Sandra Asiedu was gruesomely killed by her supposed boyfriend Louis Asante at her residence on August 1, 2021, in Damongo in the Savannah region. She was found in a pool of blood with wounds believed to be knife stabs.
The suspect Louis Asante travelled from Obuasi to Damongo to visit his supposed girlfriend but met an alleged soldier man boyfriend of the deceased policewoman at his residence.
The incident led to a brief scuffle between the deceased girlfriend, the soldier and the suspect. Th suspect Louis, came back during the wee hours of the night to commit the crime.
