CAF rejects Ashantigold’s request to represent Ghana in Confederation Cup

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has formally written to AshantiGold SC notifying them of their inability to compete in the 2021/22 CAF Inter Club competitions – CAF Confederation Cup. The follows a late request from AshgantiGold for an extraordinary application to enable them acquire the required licence to participate in the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup. The GFA had further correspondence with CAF on the subject and below are the key points in their reply. GAF provides minimart for former Olympic boxer Prince Amartey

Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, the Chief of Defence Staff, has commissioned a fully stocked minimart at the Volta Barracks for Ex-Corporal Prince Amartey, a former Olympic boxer. Ex Cpl. Amartey won a bronze medal for Ghana at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich and also participated in the Games in Mexico City as well as the Armed Forces Games in Rotterdam in 1971. Remains of slain police officer, Constable Sandra Asiedu relocated to Obuasi

The remains of Police Constable Sandra Asiedu, alleged to have been killed by her lover, has been transferred from the West Gonja Hospital to Obuasi in the Ashanti Region. The remains were delivered to the bereaved family on Thursday, August 5, by the Savannah Regional Police Command. In an interview with JoyNews, the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Enock Adetwum Bediako, stated that due to the family’s demand, the remains could not be sent to the Police Hospital in Accra for autopsy.
