Abeiku Jackson misses out on semis despite winning Heat 2 of 100m swimming

Ghanaian swimmer Abeiku Jackson has missed out on the semi final spot despite winning the Mens Heat 2 100m race on Thursday morning.

The Ghanaian emerged winner of the heat in the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games after making a time of 53.39s but could not progress further.

Abeiku Jackson won the heat with a time of 53.39s ahead of Steven Aimable of Senegal and Abass Qali of Kuwait who finished second and third respectively.

However, despite Abeiku’s performance which has even seen him set a new national record for Ghana, he missed out a chance to compete in the semifinals of 2020 Olympic Games by only two seconds since opponents from the other heats had better time as compared to his.
