RTU back in the GHPL after dramatic last day in Division One League

Real Tamale United declared winners of protest against BA United

The Northern Region of Ghana will once again witness Premier league football after RTU gained promotion into the competition after a dramatic final day in the Division One League.

Real Tamale United went into the last day 2 points behind Tano Bofoakwa, needing a to win while hoping Bofoakwa Tano failed to beat Berekum Arsenal away.

That was exactly what happened. RTU beat Unity FC 2-0 and Bofo drew 0-0 with Arsenal, earning RTU a place in the Ghana Premier League for the first time in 10 years.

They will join Bibiani GoldStars and Accra Lions as the three promoted teams in the Ghana Premier League next season.
