Aboabo Shooting: One person confirmed dead

One person has been confirmed dead with another fighting for his life at the Emergency Unit of the Manhyia Government Hospital after they were hit by stray bullets during the Eid-ul Adha prayers at Aboabo Number 2 in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region. Some youth who joined the prayers were firing gunshots and brandishing weapons as part of the celebrations on Tuesday, July 20. A stray bullet from the warning shots, however, hit 16-year-old Gafaru Kasim, who was rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital but could not survive. Another person was seriously injured. Health Alert: Kpone Veterinary Officer bans pork consumption

The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Veterinary Office in collaboration with the Municipal Assembly has temporarily banned the consumption of all pork and its related transactions due to the outbreak of African swine fever in pig farms in the Municipality. Highways recommend 40 meters reinforced concrete bridge between Ayinase to Menzezor road

The Western Regional Director of the Ghana Highways Authority (GHA), Mr. Seth Ofori Kommey has recommended a-40-meter concrete bridge over the Kpulake Kuma river on the Ayinase to Menzezor road in the Ellembelle District. The recommendation follows the deplorable nature of a portion of the road adjacent the Kpulake Kuma River, which caved in during a recent downpour.
