One dead, eight others injured in an accident at Gomoa Otsew

One person died instantly and eight others sustained various degree of injuries in an accident that occurred last Sunday, July 11, at Gomoa Otsew near the Winneba junction on the Accra-Cape Coast Highway.  Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr. Moses Osakonor of the Apam District Police Command told the Ghana News Agency that the accident happened at around 0430 hours. He said one Edwin aged 43, now deceased was in charge of a V/W Sprinter bus with registration number GW6682-20 loaded with goods with eight persons on board from Accra towards Takoradi. Police at Half Assini in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region has begun investigations into what led to the death of a Primary 2 pupil of the Roman Catholic Primary School at Tikobo No. 2. The pupil, whose name has been given as Vivian Abahh, is said to have committed suicide close to her school. However, her family members are of the firm believe that she was murdered, explaining that they have been in touch with her spirit after performing series of rituals. UK warns tech platforms: take action over racist Euros messages

LONDON, July 13 (Reuters) - Britain warned social media platforms they must take action over racist messages sent to England's Black soccer players following the Euro 2020 final defeat or they would face consequences. At least three Black players have been subjected to online racist messages and abuse since the final on Sunday night. The Times reported that the government wants the platforms to provide details of those who made racially abusive comments. "We need to ensure that those platforms take action and if they don't, the government will take action against them," Stephen Barclay, chief secretary to the Treasury, told Sky News.
