Suspect in Feyiase murder arrested, confesses to the crime – Police

Police in Kuntenase in the Ashanti region have picked up a suspect in the death of the cabdriver Israel Agyei Manu. The police has named the suspect as Rashid Ibrahim who has reportedly confessed to the crime. He is said to have killed Israel Agyei Manu, who was also a head teacher of Rogel Montessori Basic School at Atonsu Kumasi. Manu owned a Toyota Vitz vehicle with registration number GE 3170-21, which he used on part time basis as a Bolt driver. The police said the suspect initially gave an "untenable alibi." But later confessed to committing the crime and led police to retrieve the matchete which he allegedly used to behead the deceased at Feyiase New Site on July 4, 2021. Freddie Blay Breaks Ground for Volta Regional NPP Office Complex

The National Chairman of the Governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has cut sod to begin the construction of the Volta Regional headquarters of the party in Ho, the regional capital. The project which is expected to be completed by the end of the year is estimated to cost about Ghc1.2 million. When completed, it will have offices for all regional officers, and an executive conference room. A second phase which includes a conference centre would commence soon after the first phase. AMA boss supervises desilting exercise at Makola

Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah has led a team from the Drains Maintenance Unit of the Assembly to desilt drains in Makola in the Central Business District of Accra.  The desilting works which began in the wee hours of Sunday saw the desilting of the major drains choked with plastic along the Kwame Nkrumah Avenue and Selwyn Market Road. Military plane crash kills at least 45

A military plane has crashed in the southern Philippines killing at least 45 people, with dozens more pulled alive from the burning wreckage. The transporter was carrying more than 90 people, mostly troops, when it overshot the runway on Jolo island. The dead are mainly military personnel, but three civilians on the ground were also killed, the defence ministry said. Rescue workers scoured the wreckage of the Lockheed C130 Hercules in a wood near several buildings. The aircraft burst into flames on crashing, sending a large black cloud into the air.
