Four suspected kidnappers shot dead in forest near Busunu in Savannah region

Four suspected kidnappers aged between eighteen and thirty-four, have been shot dead in a forest near Busunu in the Savannah Region. The four were alleged to have kidnapped a four-year-old son of the Fulani Chief of Busunu on June 29. A Police situational report indicates that a local search party dispatched to trace the whereabouts of the boy was met with gunshots four miles from the Busunu township. Government slapped with $15 million judgment debt over unlawful seizure of excavators

A Kumasi High Court has slapped government with a $15.3 million judgment debt for the unlawful seizure of excavators. It has also ordered that government pays the mining company, Heritage Imperial Limited an amount of GH¢600,000. This amount was awarded to the mining firm prospecting for gold in the Apamprama Forest Reserve in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region. On December 6, 2018, company’s concession was raided by the Inter-Ministerial Taskforce on Illegal Mining under the suspicion of engaging in activities outside their mandate. Eastern Region: Police kill two suspected robbers, retrieve ammunition

The police have killed two suspected armed robbers and retrieved a large cache of ammunition from suspected criminals at Ntoaso, near Nsawam, in the Eastern Region, during a special operation. The weapons include 2,882 rounds of ammunition, BB cartridges, a locally manufactured pistol, one AK 47 Assault rifle, a MI6 rifle, a pump action, a shotgun and 840 rounds of MI6 ammunition. Fire ravages Zenith University [Photos]

An inferno has ravaged parts of the Zenith University College near the Accra International Trade Fair Centre, La, destroying several properties. Reports indicate the fire occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Two offices, one store, and two recreational centres were completely destroyed by the fire. It took the timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to prevent the fire from wreaking further havoc as they worked tirelessly for about three hours to douse the fire. Four suspected armed robbers have been arrested by a community watch volunteer group in Banda Nkwanta in the Bole-Bamboi district of the Savannah region. Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejura-Sekyedumase is demanding compensation for victims killed and injured during a riot between the youth of the town and security personnel.
