Mr Frederick Green, the National President of Spartans for New Patriotic Party (NPP), a youth activists group has donated 250 cages to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to support in the Green Ghana programme.

Mr Green in an interview during the presentation of the items said the initiative by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was laudable hence the gesture by the group to help replenish the environment through the planting of five million trees across the country.

Mr Osei Assibey Antwi, the KMA Chief Executive who received the donation commended Mr Green and his group, which had branches across the country for supporting a worthy cause and pledged the Assembly’s commitment of putting the items to good use for the sustenance of the project.

The members of the Ashanti Regional branch of the Spartans for NPP led by the National President later joined the KMA Boss, the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources designate, Mr Benito Owusu-Bio, Mr David Oppong, the Metro Director and the KMA staff to plant 600 seedlings along the Santasi-Obuasi road linking up to Asafo in Kumasi.
