Good governance shoots Ghana’s image higher

That Ghana’s global image is soaring is a fact that not even opponents of the New Patriotic Party administration can overlook or ignore. From our leap away from the IMF programme that the previous administration of John Dramani Mahama foisted on us, through our re-engineering our wobbly economic structures to initiatives across the respective sectors to job creation, Ghana has been globally hailed as a fast-growing economy. Our management of the COVID-19 pandemic has not only been an example to neighbours in the sub-region and across the whole continent, but also Ghana has been lauded by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for our courageous fight in tracing, testing and treating of the coronavirus. We capped all that with a success story in securing our food security goals, ...

Ivory Coast hopes to end a decade of rancour with Gbagbo’s return

Ivory Coast is preparing for the return of former President Laurent Gbagbo on Thursday, a move that his supporters and the government hope will help ease tensions that have hung over the country since his arrest a decade ago. Supporters have been buying party memorabilia such as scarves, pouches and garments bearing Gbagbo's image in the Yopougon district of Abidjan, considered his political stronghold, since his return was confirmed on May 31. The government of President Alassane Ouattara, which initially objected to Gbago's party announcing his return date without official approval, has accepted the plan as part of ongoing efforts to smooth tensions. Gbago is to arrive on Thursday on a commercial flight from Brussels. "His presence will reconcile Ivorians. He is coming t...

Nigeria ‘Loses N24.72bn’ In 10 Day Due To Twitter Ban

Nigeria has lost N24.72bn in 10 days due to the Twitter ban imposed by the Federal government.
