Jordan, Djiku, Owusu, Baba and Fatawu join Star camp in Cape Coast

Jordan Ayew is one of the latest arrivals in the camp of the Black Stars in Cape Coast ahead of next week’s International friendly matches against Morocco and Ivory Coast. The Crystal Palace forward trained with the rest of the squad at the Cape Coast stadium on Friday, June 4. Also joining the camp are defender Alexander Djiku and winger Samuel Owusu left back Baba Abdul Rahman and youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku. The quintet brings to 23 – the number of players currently in the camp of the Black Stars. Referee for Hearts v Sharks game suspended for the rest of the season

Maxwell Kofi Owusu, who refereed the matchday 25 game between Hearts of Oak and Elmina Sharks has been been suspended by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the rest of the season. The decision was taken by the match review panel of the GFA after receiving official complaints from Elmina Sharks. Owusu admitted on social media after the game that he made some calls he wasn’t proud of. Sharks complained that Assistant Referee 1 (Tijani Mohammed) disallowed a good goal scored by Elmina Sharks and flagged for an offside in the 31st minute of the first half. Manchester City defender Ruben Dias has been named Premier League player of the season. The Portugal international, 24, was influential in central defence as City won a third title in four years. He was named men's footballer of the year by the Football Writers' Association in May.
