Unemployed man remanded over robbery

The Ofaakor District Magistrate Court has remanded into police custody the two teenagers who allegedly killed a 10-year-old boy last Saturday at Coca-Cola, near Lamptey Mills in Kasoa.

The two suspects, Felix Nyarko, 15, and Nicholas King, 18 on Saturday, April 3, lured and killed a 10-year-old. Their remand is to allow the police to conduct more investigations into the matter.

According to him, Felix Nyarko sent for Ishmael to be called for him per instructions from Nicholas. Upon his arrival, Felix Nyarko beckoned Ishmael to escort him to have a look at something in an uncompleted building where Nicholas was waiting.

The report further indicated that Nicholas asked Felix to excuse them(he and Ishmael). When he left the room, Nicholas reportedly took a piece of block and hit it right on the head of the 10-year-old boy causing him to pass out with immediate effect and he hit him again for the second time.

According to the report, when the police questioned the boys, they mentioned that they needed some parts of the 10-year-old boy to take to the Volta Region for money rituals.

The 15-year-old Felix Nyarko has been instructed to be taken to the Juvenile court to be tried as Nicholas who happens to be much older would be tried at the Ofaakor District Magistrate Court.

The two, would, however, appear in their respective courts to have a hearing in a fortnight. In other news, a policeman has killed a 10-year-old girl on the Ntankoful-Anaji Highway in the Western Region.

The policeman whose name was given as Owusu was driving a private car and was reportedly chasing the driver of an alleged unlicensed vehicle.

According to a report filed by 3news, the vehicle the policeman was driving reportedly lost control in the process of chasing the unlicensed vehicle and smashed a tipper truck.
