Al Shabaab militants attack two army bases in Somalia

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - Al Shabaab Islamist militants attacked two Somali National Army bases on Saturday and the army said there had been casualties on both sides but it was now in control of the bases. The bases, located about 100 km (60 miles) southwest of the capital Mogadishu, were struck by two explosions, witnesses said. A third explosion targeted a convoy of troops rushing to the bases from the capital after the attack, they added. Agona Swedru: Body of drowned teenager found

The body of a teenager who drowned last week in the Akora river at Agona Swedru in the Central Region has been found. This was after five days of aggressive search. The decomposed body of the 14-year-old teenager, Ekua Bogge, was found by the rescue team yesterday almost decomposed and maggot infested. It was found hidden in the midst of some plants on the bank of the river at Atakwa, an area within the Botwe Estate in Agona Swedru. The body was wrapped in a black polythene and carried on an iron sheet, in line with tradition for those who drown in water in the area. He teams up with former Medeama SC coaches Samuel Boadu and Ahmed Obeng who has both joined the Phobians. The experienced goalkeepers trainer replaces Ben Owu who has left them to join the Mauve and Yellow's. He is expected to transform the goalkeeping department of Accra Hearts of Oak who have been in top form in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
