Mohammed Salisu impresses on Southampton debut

Ghanaian International defender Mohammed Salisu made his Southampton debut in their FA Cup fifth round win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Mollineaux on Thursday. Southampton head coach Ralph Hassenhutl handed the young defender his first start since he joined them last summer from Spanish La Liga side Real Valladolid. Salisu played 90-minutes in a four man defence with Jan Bednarek in central defence and Ryan Betrand and Walker-Peters as the laterals. The 21 year old will hope to top it up with more game time in all competitions for the Saints.

Alleged Abuakwa-North MP Killers finally gets a lawyer

Alleged killers of J.B. Danquah Adu, former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa-North have finally been provided with a new lawyer. On November 27, last year, Mr Augustine Obuor who had represented the suspects over the past few years withdrew his representation in the case. Mr Obuor indicated that he had read and seen many videos of one of the suspects, Daniel Asiedu aka Sexy Dondon admitting the crime to the whole world and that it was going to be difficult for him to defend Asiedu. UCC debunks claims of drop in 2021 Universities Ranking

The University of Cape Coast has debunked claims circulating on the media that it position had dropped in the 2021 ranking of Universities in Ghana. There was a publication on a news portal on Friday, February 5, purporting that the University had dropped from third to sixth position in the 2021 Webometrics ranking of World Universities. The publication also mentioned that the Regent University College of Science and Technology had now taken the position of UCC, while the University of Development Studied (UDS) had also dropped with the University of Ghana maintaining its first position. The Supreme Court has ordered lawyers in the ongoing Election 2020 Petition trial to file their written addresses by February 17. This was after the Court had adjourned the matter to February 18, 2021, for the lawyers to make legal submissions before it. The Court on Thursday unanimously overruled an objection by lawyer for the Petitioner, former President John Dramani Mahama, inviting the Court to compel the respondents, the Electoral Commission (EC) and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to call their witnesses to testify. Petitioner hints to file a review over the Court’s decision on witnesses

Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, the lead Counsel for the Petitioner in the ongoing Election 2020 Petition Trial, says he will file for a review over the Supreme Court’s decision against the cross examination of Mrs Jean Mensa, the Electoral Commission’s Chairperson and Nana Akufo-Addo.
