Hardened Criminal Arrested For Biting Off Policeman’s Finger

A 22-year-old believed to be a hardened criminal is in the grips of the police after he bit off a policeman’s finger. Eric Awutey is currently in the custody of the Millennium City Police Command in Kasoa in the Central Region after destroying Corporal Kassim Aminu’s thumb with his teeth when the policeman tried to arrest him for a stealing offence. According to the police, Awutey has been on their wanted lists for a long time for series of crimes he committed, and has been eloping anytime he was found. The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lifted the suspension on the former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyepong. According to information gathered by DGN Online, the NEC committee met on Monday, January 25, 2021, in Accra to deliberate on the lifting of the suspension of Mr. Kwabena Agyepong and matters arising. GFA commends Asante Kotoko for adhering to Covid-19 protocols

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commended Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Dreams FC for adhering to all the Covid-19 protocols set out by the Association at match venues to avoid the spread of Covid-19. Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who played against Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium in a match day 13 fixture, ensured all fans allowed into the stadium had nose masks on and practiced social distance whilst seated in the stands. 15 MPs, 56 staff test positive for COVID-19

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has announced on Thursday February 4 that 15 lawmakers and 56 of the parliamentary service, have tested positive for the virus. To that end, he has arranged that Parliament will be sitting only twice a week, as part of measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the House. “Only members of Parliament and members of staff who are needed for the business of the House on those days will be allowed in the presence of Parliament from next week,” Mr. Bagbin said. The sittings will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, he stated further.
